AFRN volunteer opportunities are designed for people with different backgrounds, abilities, schedules, and experience levels.

Some volunteers want to serve in their neighborhood. Do I need emergency response experience to volunteer?

No. AFRN needs people with many different skills. Some roles are field-focused, while others support outreach, training, administration, logistics, communications, technology, media, fundraising, planning, and community programs.

Is volunteering the same as becoming a member?

No. Membership supports AFRN and keeps individuals connected to the organization. Volunteering involves serving in a role or supporting a program. Some people may choose to do both.

Can businesses partner with AFRN?

Yes. Businesses can support AFRN through sponsorships, donations, employee volunteer programs, equipment, services, technology, facilities, supplies, and community preparedness campaigns.

Can government agencies work with AFRN?

Is AFRN a replacement for 911 or local emergency services?

No. AFRN is not a replacement for 911, fire, police, EMS, emergency management, or official public safety agencies. In an emergency, call 911. AFRN’s role is to support preparedness, coordination, training, resilience, and community-based support.
