Forward Staging Areas

Deploying Local Disaster Coordination Where It Is Needed

Staging Vehicles help CERT and NTP members establish organized neighborhood response points during disasters.

AFRN Staging Vehicles are designed to deploy forward staging areas during disasters and major emergencies. These cargo van platforms carry the equipment, supplies, communications tools, and field coordination resources needed to establish organized neighborhood response operations.

During a disaster, CERT and NTP members may need to quickly establish local staging areas for command coordination, medical triage, resource deployment, reunification, morgue operations, assessment team coordination, search and rescue support, and communications with incident command or unified command.

The Staging Vehicle gives local teams a mobile deployment package that can bring these capabilities closer to the affected neighborhood instead of relying entirely on fixed facilities or delayed outside support.

Staging Area Capabilities

Equipped to Deploy Multiple Field Functions

Each vehicle supports the setup of critical staging areas needed for neighborhood-level disaster response.

AFRN Staging Vehicles can support deployment of multiple forward staging area functions, including command, medical triage, morgue operations, resource deployment, and reunification.

These staging areas help local teams organize incoming information, assign resources, communicate with field teams, track community needs, support medical sorting, manage supplies, assist with family reunification, and coordinate response activity within the neighborhood.

By packaging these capabilities into a deployable vehicle, AFRN can help CERT and NTP members establish a more organized and capable local response environment during the early stages of a disaster.

Supplies & Equipment

Loaded for Real Field Deployment

The vehicle carries the physical equipment needed to stand up a functioning forward staging area.

Staging Vehicles may carry tables, chairs, tarps, pop-up tents, medical supplies, body bags, command boards, televisions, communications equipment, field radios, internet equipment, wireless access points, power support, signage, documentation supplies, and other mission-specific equipment.

Communications equipment can support coordination with assessment teams, incident command or unified command, search and rescue teams, neighborhood response teams, resource deployment groups, and other field personnel.

The goal is to provide more than transportation. The vehicle becomes a deployable staging-area kit that helps local responders create order, communicate effectively, and coordinate response activity when normal infrastructure is disrupted.
